Counselling
is a form of psychological or verbal therapy that can offer people

of counselling and therapy such as Family Counselling,
Relationship Counselling, Addiction Counselling, Aftercare
Counselling, Cognative Behavioural Therapy, Person Centered
Therapy to name but a few
Our
therapists are all 'solution focused'.
This means that therapy will not normally be open ended,
but rather with a focus on identifying your problems and helping
you address then in the best possible way.
In order to do this they ustilise widely accepted models
and approaches. These provide a beneficial and rewarding
opportunity to move forward and regain control of your life

family counselling in your home area. We will ensure that
you receive the highest quality of therapy by qualified,

week blocks, however if you require longer or shorter feel
simply ask.
At
ADUS Healthcare we are able to help you find a counsellor in
your home area. This
can be either on an individual, couple or family basis.
What
is counselling?
Counselling
is about looking at and talking about feelings, exploring
underlying causes and identifying your options and
possibilities. It aims to support you in working through your
difficulties and providing a save space to reflect on a painful
experience. Your counsellor will encourage you to talk about
what is troubling you and listen carefully to what you say. They
may ask you some questions about your strengths and ways of
coping, as well as establishing how much support you have in
your life.
Counselling,
as a process, aims to help you reach your own decisions and make
your own choices in life. It is not about giving advice, making
decisions for you, or imposing opinions on you. The counsellor
will not tell you what to do, or take action for you. The aim is
to help you reach your own solution.

troubled or experiencing difficulties in their life. The main
benefits is that it:
It
can offer a supportive and caring relationship in which you can
explore any issue at your own pace;
You
are accepted for who you are in a non judgemental way;
It
can help you see difficulties more objectively;
It
can help you identify and express your feelings
It
can help you come to terms with new or past experiences;
It
can improve communication;
It
can help you take control of your life and become more
assertive;
It
can help you to become more realistic in setting goals.
First
Counselling Meeting and Assessment
All
our services start with an initial consultation session, which
normally lasts for 50 minutes. Attending this meeting is not in
itself a commitment to start therapy; it is an opportunity to
explore what has brought you to Adus Healthcare, and to decide
whether to start attending regular sessions. During the
consultation the therapist will assess the nature of your
difficulties, discuss with you any concerns you might have, and
decide the best way in which we might help.
This
crucial first stage is central to all our work. It ensures you
can start to receive the most appropriate form of counselling or
psychotherapy, usually straight away.
When
ongoing counselling is agreed, we will make arrangements for you
to see a counsellor on a regular basis. When you have your
ongoing counselling you will normally see the same person each
week for a 50 minute session. If for any reason you cannot keep
an appointment, please let us know as we can then fit in other
clients who may be waiting.
Our
Standards
We
require our counsellors and therapists to have undergone
professional training to the highest standard, to receive proper
supervision of their work, to receive appropriate personal
therapy and to hold appropriate indemnity insurance.
Telephone
& e-counselling
Telephone and e-counselling are an alternative
source of help when in-person sessions or other telephone
contact are not convenient or accessible. Online counselling can
be especially helpful for those who, for whatever reason, find
it difficult or impossible to go to a counsellor's office.
Telephone and e-counselling is a professional,
confidential counselling service available over the telephone or
on the Internet, through your EAP. It allows you to connect with
a counsellor from any computer with Internet access, anywhere in
the world.
e-counselling
is available by appointment only.
What
equipment do I need to be able to do e-counselling?
You
need a computer with Internet access. It is helpful to have
broadband, or a fairly fast connection. You don't need to
download any special software to use our e-counselling.
We
are here for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call now
