Dual
Diagnosis - Two Day Course:
This
course is designed for staff who work with or
encounter people with dual diagnosis. It will
particularly suit those working in field of drug
misuse or mental health. The course will present
the theory of the co-existence of mental health
and substance misuse problems, and provide
participants with the skills to recognise the
complex needs of those with dual diagnosis.
By the end of the course participants will have:
- an
understanding of the range and spectrum of
mental health disorders as identified in the
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual Volume 4
- increased
their familiarity and have an understanding
of the issues of Dual Diagnosis
- increased
their awareness of risks related to this
client group
- increased
awareness of the range of responses to this
client group
