- One Day Course
This
course is designed to provide participants with
a general awareness of issues relating to
alcohol abuse and addiction. It will equip
participants with a basic knowledge of the
various type of abuse, how to recognise it and
the option and treatment types available to
those to suffer from it..
By
the end of the training participants will be
able to:

Describe what alcohol is summarise potential
short-and long term effects on drinkers.
2/
Describe the ways in which alcohol is commonly
used and what is meant by safe, hazardous and
dangerous drinking.
3/
Describe the relevance of concepts of
dependency, addition, problem-drinking.
4/
Describe the relationship between alcohol and
the law.
5/
Describe the impact of problem drinking on
relationships and health.
6/
Offer basic advice to parents with drinking
problems.
7/
List the range of services commonly available to
people seeking help and advice and how to access
these.
8/
Describe the common care pathways for people at
various stages in their drinking lives and the
potential impacts on families at particular
stages of care.
This
training course will use a variety of
experiential and direct teaching methods, as
well as case studies, role-play, and powerpoint
to create an active learning environment.
